DESTINE - Promoting VET excellence in the AM sector

DESTINE project aims to:

  • A new European Metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) Design Technician professional profile and qualification standard aimed at young people aged 17 to 25 years old;
  • National and European Skills Leagues in which trainees enrolled in the new European Metal Additive Manufacturing Design Technician will participate, showcasing their skills in Metal AM Design to relevant key stakeholders from Education and Industry, with a winning prize to the best rated participants.
  • The curriculum of the European Metal AM Design Technician qualification, comprised by Competence Units addressing relevant subjects related to the Metal AM Design process;
  • Innovative educational materials to be used by teachers and trainers who will be implementing the European Metal AM Design Technician qualification standard, allowing them to adjust the training contents to current generations;
  • Rules and procedures for conducting National and European Skills Leagues, ensuring a harmonized implementation of these competitions in all countries and participants’ performance are assessed under the same criteria.
  • The pilot sessions of the European Metal AM Design Technician qualification standard by DESTINE partners in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain, which will ultimately enable the consortium to make the necessary improvements on the curriculum and educational materials towards their final versions for implementation in different Vocational Education and Training (VET) Systems;
  • Two rounds of National Skills Leagues in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain in which the trainees enrolled in the pilot sessions will be demonstrating their level of skills through practical performance of specific tasks;
  • Two rounds of European Skills Leagues in Portugal and Spain, in which the three best rated participants from the National Skills Leagues conducted in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain will participate and be provided with a EUROPASS Mobility Certificate to support their future careers.
  • More than 200 people actively participating in DESTINE activities, including trainees, teachers, trainers and representatives from VET, Industry and National Qualification Agencies;
  • A new European Metal AM Design Technician Qualification standard recognized by Industry at European level;
  • National and European Skills Leagues that will promote the European Metal AM Design Technician qualification and improve trainees’ learning experience;
  • Foster the integration of Additive Manufacturing sector, and more specifically the Metal AM Design Technician professional profile, into the WorldSkills and EuroSkills Competitions.
